Our Early Viability Scan is available from 6 weeks to 8 weeks of pregnancy and is designed to provide reassurance during the very early stages of your pregnancy.

The scan is carried out by one of our experienced local sonographers with diagnostic expertise, ensuring you receive accurate and supportive care throughout your appointment.

Your 25-minute diagnostic appointment includes:

• Time from arrival at reception, through to your ultrasound scan
• An opportunity to review your images (where time allows)
• The chance to ask your sonographer any questions

During the scan, we look for early signs that your pregnancy is progressing, including visualising your baby’s heartbeat (pulsations), where possible at this stage.

We are not restricted to very short appointment slots, allowing us to provide you with the time, care and support you need, whatever the outcome of your scan.

Important Information

If you are experiencing pelvic pain or bleeding, we recommend contacting your GP, your local Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit, or calling 111 for medical advice in the first instance. If you remain concerned, we are happy to arrange an appointment for you.

You are welcome to bring guests. However, as this is an early-stage diagnostic scan, we recommend that children do not attend. Please check your chosen clinic’s guest policy for details on the number of guests permitted.

Please ensure you have had a positive pregnancy test before booking.
