3D-4D-5D (HD Live) Plus Scan: 18-34 Weeks – Growth Scan
The 3D/4D/5D Plus Scan is designed to assess the well-being and growth of your baby. This scan provides a closer bond by offering clear views of your baby’s face, hands, and feet. Conducted between 18 and 34 weeks of pregnancy, the scan focuses on monitoring your baby’s health while delivering high-quality 3D/4D/5D imagery.
A fully-qualified obstetric sonographer will check your baby’s heartbeat, movement, placental position, amniotic fluid level, and overall position. They will also perform a hemodynamic assessment of the fetomaternal circulation. The results will be compiled into a detailed report, which can be shared with your midwife.
The scan is performed using an abdominal ultrasound probe (external on the abdomen). It’s important to note that the images are created through sound waves reflecting off your abdomen.
Image quality can vary depending on factors such as BMI, which may impact the resolution of the images.
Please Note: The main purpose of this scan is to provide a thorough diagnostic evaluation of your baby, utilizing advanced 3D/4D/5D (HD Live) imaging technology to offer unique perspectives.
In addition, a Doppler scan will be performed to measure blood flow in critical areas like the umbilical cord, brain, and uterine arteries. This helps ensure your baby is receiving the oxygen and nutrients it needs from the placenta. Doppler is also essential for assessing the risk of preeclampsia.
If your baby’s position makes it difficult to get clear 3D/4D/5D images, our sonographer may suggest a short walk to encourage movement. If this doesn’t improve the images, we will offer a complimentary rescan at a later date. If further attempts to capture 4D imagery are unsuccessful, the scan will be adjusted to a Well-being and Growth Scan, including Doppler and presentation assessment, and you will be charged the price difference.
